Tatiana Carbonell Guillon
Curriculum vitae
Tatiana Carbonell (she/her/hers) is a doctoral candidate at ETH Zurich, jointly appointed between the Institute for History and Theory of Architecture (gta) and the Institute for Landscape and Urban Studies (LUS). Her work intersects architecture, landscape, and the history of science and technology studying climate conceptions and its historic development through different infrastructure-building projects in early nineteenth-century Alpine Switzerland.
Tatiana finished her master’s thesis awarded with the Highest Distinction at the Landscape Architecture department from the Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) where she has been an Assistant Professor later on. Among her recent projects is the publication of the edited volume From Rock to Park (Ediciones arq, 2020) and the direction of the exhibition Flying Panels at Arkdes, Stockholm (2019). Currently she is a member of the Editorial Committee of Revista Rita.
Together with Chase Galis, Tatiana is co-curator of the lecture series, “Climate Anxiety and Other Expressions of Crisis,” which will take place at the Chair of Architecture of Territory at ETH in the Spring 2024 semester. The lecture series conforms an ongoing project titled Horror Stories, in part supported by the Legacy Emilio Ambasz Foundation. Horror Stories investigates narrative structure in the writing of architecture and environmental history through its emotional and physiological effect.
