The doctoral project with the working title “Architecture of Moving Bodies: Russian Avant-Garde Architecture and the Other Arts” analyses the new ideas emerging in Soviet architecture after the October Revolution of 1917, tracing some of them to new ideas in the fields of other arts, from painting and poetry to theatre, sculpture and cinema. The work aims to reassess the rich period of invention in architecture through analysing some of the first theoretical debates, temporary structures and new neighbourhoods that followed the October Revolution through the notions of a new language, movement and the body.
